London Town

When my sister and dad returned home from Paris, my stepmom and I extended the trip and went on to London. I have to say- I really loved London. Our cab drivers were always tour guides and everyone was just so friendly

Some highlights:

Singing in the Rain at the Palace Theater

I loved everything about our first night in London. We went to a simple but delicious dinner at the Ivy, where I was of course hoping to run into a celebrity, and then off to theater for Singing in the Rain! The show was unbelievable- I don’t think I stopped smiling the whole time.

Someone in front of us did not have the same feeling. They use actual WATER in some of the scenes and a woman in one of the first couple of rows was not having it. She opened her UMBRELLA in the theater so she wouldn’t get wet. Needless to say, the people sitting behind her were even less pleased.

Afternoon tea at the Dorchester

Who knew afternoon tea could also include unlimited finger sandwiches and a few glasses of champagne? The tea may not have been my favorite part- but it was a cool tradition to take part in.

Big Ben

HAD to include this in the sights. Like the Eiffel Tower, it’s just one of those things you have to see!

Westminster Abbey

We had a great tour of Westminster Abbey- I was of course obsessed with the fact that William and Kate had gotten married and walked through this door! What you probably don’t know though is that there are a lot of dead people buried under there. Kind of weird to walk around over.

That was just a BRIEF tour of my splendid vacation to Europe. While I loved seeing the sights, I think I more enjoyed being out of contact. It was great to only be able to check my email a little, not to be texting at the table, and to be really, just, on vacation.

Have you been to Paris and London? Which was your favorite?
