So as you know, I’ve been working hard to get something to come together, and although it isn’t yet a full-time job, I’ve got an apartment in Boston to move into next week and an unpaid 10-hour-a-week, do-from-wherever internship in the field I want to be in.
First, I’m moving to the Allston area of Boston to live in a small apartment with another aspiring young professional for the summer. Although it’s a pretty small place, it’s full of charm and everything I could possibly want in an apartment (complete with back porch, dishwasher, and washer and dryer unit)! I enjoyed being home, but I am excited about this next step and hope my local address gives companies more of a reason to call me in for an interview.
Also, I’m going to start as a PR intern for a small personal branding company helping them to get press for and run events during the summer. As I don’t have practical experience in the PR field yet, it will be rewarding to try it out and see if it’s something I want to be in my job description long term.
So this change might not be the monumental shift like college was, but this is REAL LIFE now. Slow and steady wins the race 🙂
Congrats on the internship Sarah!!! That sounds like an awesome experience for you. Can’t wait to see where life takes you next =)
