Do Something Creative Every Day

It is very easy to fall into the work day routine. I wake up (usually late), get ready, run to the bus, go about my workday, eat my lunch at my desk, finish the work day, go to the gym, make dinner, watch some TV and go to bed, just to do the same exact thing the next day.

While I am very happy to have a workday to call my own, there is something missing in the free flow of information my unemployed life had. I read a lot more, not just on my 15 minute commute. I found relevant articles online and could read them, not just scan them. I could write in this blog more.

My Boston apartment is near this wonderful store called The Paper Source, and their motto is Do Something Creative Every Day. There I browse, and buy,  craft kits, fun papers, card making tools, knick nacks, and AWESOME planners (this is coming from a picky planner person).

While I can’t agree to doing something creative EVERY DAY, I try to do something to get the creative juices flowing each week, just to let my brain work a little or just to have fun.

This week I did some Paper Source crafts, including paper mistletoe and homemade Christmas cards! (Hopefully you’re one of the 20 that made the list for a card!). I made reindeer cookies with my sister for her cookie swap, and here I am writing this here blog post.

It’s important to try to work in these little things when you can, so stay sane, keep on your toes, and be creative.

Happy crafting!
