What the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Means to Me

I began this wacky tradition three years ago in my college apartment: each year we make cake and eat it while watching the Fashion Show in our VS sweatpants.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is the first week of December each year, and is basically known for being a bunch of VS Angels strutting their stuff on the runway with some awesome performances to boot.

While a lot of people have bad body image sentiments before, during, and after the show, I would really encourage you to avoid it. These models get paid unreal amounts of money to be in this crazy shape. Specifically for the Fashion Show, Adriana Lima stops eating solid foods a week before the show, and stops eating altogether 12 hours before the show.

That is not what real women are about.

A real woman is joyful, charismatic and confident in her own skin.

So while these aliens walk down the runway in their sexy undapants, let us accept this is not something a real woman can do.

Here’s to the real woman! Let us eat cake, because they can’t!
