Reading List from 2012

The past couple of years, reading more has been on my resolution list. I tend to exceed my goal once I get started- but I’d like to share what got read and what I’d recommend!

Business Favorites:

  • The Method Method

So I read this at the very beginning of the year- so I can’t speak too much to it now, but luckily I wrote a blog post about it after I read it! I have a real passion for linking business initiatives with doing good in the world and I loved the scrappy story of how Method soap began. This to me was a real entrepreneur’s story- not some glorified version of it.

  • The Power of Habit

Changing habits is a powerful thing. Whether its something in your personal life you want to change or in your business, its weird how each habit is caused by something else. This is a fantastic read just to learn a little more about how the mind works.

Fun Favorites:

  • The Paris Wife

Written about Hemmingway’s first wife, I remember this book being a powerful love story. I can’t quite put my finger on what I loved so much- but it was a believable story about a woman who knew her husband loved something more than he loved her- his writing.

  • Blackberry Winter

I just finished this one last week- but it is awesome! Very well-written and very quick short and fun read. Highly recommended for a snowy afternoon in with some tea.
