6 Months In: Resolutions

We’ve reached almost the END of June at this point, and a full six months of the year are already gone. With this, it’s time to take a look back at all of the resolutions I made in January, just to see how I’m doing.

What of my list have I accomplished?

– Become a part of the VUAA Boston chapter

– Take the GMAT

– Build a comfortable savings

– Write long LinkedIn article

– Add Google Analytics to the blog

What’s on course:

– Visiting old friends- While I went to NYC and Atlantic City already this year to catch up with friends, I believe a Chicago trip is coming the end of summer, and potentially a California trip in the fall, depending on the next item.

– Do something crazy- I don’t generally act on impulse (and this isn’t even really impulse) but the extended family might go to Paris in the fall! I’ve never been, would love to go with the fam, so I think this is something I might do!

– Read 12 books- I’m already reading number nine and I am just into summer. I think in 2013 I might make this a challenge to read 24! Twelve is just really do-able for me at this point.

– Try 12 new recipes- I’ve tried a lot of crock pot recipes, but finding summer ones is a little more tough. I did just buy a 5 ingredients or less cookbook, so I should be getting some good ideas there!

What’s left to do:

New friends in Boston- I’ve made a few girl friends from field hockey and from joining a book club, but I’d like to do this more! I love having friends in different circles.

– Speak in public- I’ve been on one university event panel so far this year and spoken in one class. I’d like to do this a little more, but haven’t quite figured out where to start!

– Learn Adobe Creative Suite- This will be the big battle! I’ve dabbled a little but am honestly lost. I even bought a Dummies book to try to help! Hopefully I make this one.

– Learn to golf- I knew this was  big stretch starting the year, so I don’t think I’ll make this one. But maybe I will next year. BSSC, the same organization that runs my field hockey league, also has golf lessons, so it just might be possible!

– Be content with blog brand- hopefully you’ll be seeing changes to this soon. I’m still not crazy by the set up! So changes are on their way. It’s funny, sometimes I find playing with how the blog LOOKS more enjoyable than actually writing the blog 🙂

The other consistent things (working out, eating well) are going pretty well I must say! Paying lots for the gym has certainly motivated me to go more often, and living with a health nut has done well for my diet.

How are your resolutions coming along?
