What the Bachelorette Can Teach You About Social Media

Last summer, one of my roommates Lilly introduced me to the show the Bachelorette. We would get together every Monday night and watch the weekly two hour episode (I know, that is a LOT of time to waste on a show) and root for our favorite contestants.

I only watch the Bachelorette, because watching guys fight over one girl and become best friends while doing so is WAY more fun than watching a gazillion girls cry over one guy and cat fight the whole time.

Sadly, this past Monday, this year’s season ended.

What I’ve noticed this year over most, is the Bachelorette’s ability to integrate social media. As you would assume, NONE of the contestants are allowed to use social media while on the show, so you would think integrating social media may be impossible. Alas, there is still Chris Harrison (@ChrisBHarrison), host of ALL of the Bachelor shows since 2001. He gives continuity to each season, master of the rose ceremony, and the ultimate confidant of each of the contestants.

He tweets on things related to all of the shows, special interviews, and responds to fan’s questions.

SO next time you think whatever brand you represent changes too often to have a hold on social media- search to find YOUR Chris Harrison.
